It's hit the shelves!

Very quick update - you remember I have hinted at a secret I couldn't tell you? Well, I can tell you now (if you haven't already read it on Facebook!). I am featured in an article in Prima magazine, the September issue (which is on the shelves now). I wrote to them and asked if they would run a feature on facial palsy and they asked me to write it - fee being paid to Facial Palsy UK charity - and sent a photographer round and everything! It's been lightly edited to suit their house-style but remains pretty faithful to how I wrote it.

I am so excited! Anything that raises awareness of facial palsy has got to be good news!

Rush out and buy it, folks!!

  1. Hi Ali,
Just been reading the very same article in Prima and thought it was really moving. The photo of you and your husband was lovely as well. I`m only 5ft tall and my husband is 6ft 4 so it made me smile ! I am the same age and have 2 boys exactly the same age as yours and cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to cope with everything you have all been through. I`m going to read your blog now. Keep on doing what you do and by the way - you look lovely as well. Karen xx

  4. Hi Ali, have just been reading your article in Prima and felt the need to say Congratulations on being brave (possibly wrong word) enough to raise awareness of facial palsy. I have to admit that I wasn't aware of cancer of the salivary gland until now. Your frank honest article was humbling, and your description of how you have continued to embrace life is outstanding. (am also secretly very envious that you have run the London marathon 5 times..my god, running from the car into tesco in the rain was enough for me today!) Congrats again, anna x

    1. Thank you, Anna. I hadn't heard of salivary gland cancer before last year either!! I hoped that the article would raise some awareness of what I've had -and have! And trust me, if I can run a marathon, anyone can! Ali x
